Gosport Methodist Church

Stoke Road, Gosport, PO12 1JB
Gosport Methodist Church is situated on Stoke Road in the heart of Gosport. Gosport is a town with an important naval history and a number of naval establishments are still operating within the town. Our church was rebuilt about 15 years ago so, although it looks traditional on the outside, the interior is modern and has been designed with a view to community use. A number of community organisations operate from our building.Gosport 1

Centenary Celebrations
In 2010, it was 200 years since the first Methodist chapel was built in Gosport.
In 1910, a chapel was built on the current site. The church celebrated throughout the year.
Please click here find out how.

Fire
In 1989 our church suffered a disastrous fire that almost completely destroyed the building. It was later rebuilt, retaining the original shell but completely remodeling the interior to provide facilities that would be of more benefit to the community.
